Charities We Serve

 As Penn State alumni and Pennsylvania residents, our primary focus involves charities affiliated with other alumni or a Pennsylvania presence but we support both national and international charities too.

SWH has:

• Networked with and supported dozens of charities in various ways 
• Organized more than 140v olunteer moments  
• Provided professional support to several charities through our network  
• Created a scholarship for students focused on charitable activities  
• Given more than $60 to charities through grants and general donations 

We are looking to add charities that are founded by Penn State alumni or affiliated with Penn State alumni to our network. How are causes added to the network? 

1. We analyze each applicant to verify either 501(c)(3) status or if they are affiliated with another organization that has 501(c)(3) status. 
2. For grassroots charitable activities that are below the $5000 IRS threshold, the board discusses and votes.
